post

With rapidly increasing COVID 19 cases, many countries are taking precautions and to avoid the virus, countries are putting restrictions on international travel and international flights. The latest country that has joined the bandwagon of the international travel ban is Hong Kong. The Omicron variant of Covid 19 has forced Hong Kong to close its borders to a few countries.

There are around eight countries from flights to Hong Kong have been canceled. According to Carrie Lam, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong told reporters that flights from Australia, Canada, France, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, UK and US have been canceled and they won’t be allowed land in Hong Kong. Even the transit flights have also been denied permission to land. Passengers who have stayed in these countries have not been allowed to enter the country.

The Omicron outbreak in Hong Kong was detected when infected members of an airline crew entered the country.

After the devastating first and second waves of Covid 19, countries are trying their best to avoid the third wave and to do so some strict steps are being taken.

The countries mentioned in the list are witnessing a high surge in Omicron cases and with each passing day the numbers are growing rapidly and putting restrictions on flights from severely affected countries is considered a wise decision.
